Dr. Dimitrios Pantazis, group leader at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, has been elected as new Vice-President of the QBIC Society.

During their international meeting in Warsaw, the members of the Quantum Bioinorganic Chemistry (QBIC) Society elected Dr. Dimitrios Pantazis, group leader at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, as their new vice president. Dr. Pantazis joins the president Prof. Rob Deeth (University of Warwick, UK) in the leadership of the Society. Among his tasks are the coordination of scientific networking and outreach activities.

At our institute, the Pantazis group performs fundamental research in the field of quantum inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, with emphasis on the advanced theoretical investigation of the electronic structure, magnetism, spectroscopy and reactivity of transition metal systems.

The QBIC Society was founded in 2018 with the purpose of bringing together scientists from academia and industry who are working in the broad fields of theoretical and computational inorganic, bioinorganic, and biological chemistry. It is the unique international scientific organization catering for these fields. Its aim is to encourage, support, and promote all aspects of research and knowledge exchange in these areas of science.
