April 25, 2016

Six months after the assumption of his post as new Mayor of Mülheim an der Ruhr Ulrich Scholten now visited Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. He met the directors of the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and the Max-Planck-Institut für Chemische Energiekonversion and got an insight into the topics and main focuses of the research work of the Institutes. Also the future planning of Max-Planck society for the location of Mülheim was discussed.

The Mayor of Mülheim is member of the Administrative Board of the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and therefore involved in important decision-making processes. Professor Walter Thiel, acting as the representative Managing Director of the Kohlenforschung, took Scholten on a visit through the institute rooms and labs. A demonstration of the electron microscope and a view from the rooftop of the laboratory building accomplished the visit of Ulrich Scholten at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung.
