The first Chemical Engineering Medal goes to Prof Ferdi Schüth

For the first time the Swiss Feredal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich awarded the “Chemical Engineering Medal” for Chemical and Bioengineering. And the first awardee comes from Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Prof. Ferdi Schüth, director at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung, received the medal during a ceremony in Zurich. The medal was awarded to Prof. Schüth in recognition of his seminal contributions to materials chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, and energy-related research.

In front of around 150 guests Javier Pérez-Ramírez, head of the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, gave the medal to Prof. Schüth. The awardee gave a lecture on the application of nanostructures in the field of catalysis research.
