Technical University Munich confers the title of Honorary Doctor to Professor Ferdi Schüth

The Technical University of Munich has conferred the title of Honorary Doctor to Professor Ferdi Schüth, Director of Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. The awarding took place on the inauguration ceremony of the new Catalysis Research Center in Garching on May, 9. Schüth gave a lecture on “Nanostructured Catalysts’ Applications” and presented his most current work.

The TU Munich awarded Schüth for his scientific research and his engagement in the field of Heterogeneous Catalysis. An emphasis was put on the contribution of Schüth concerning the development of methods of parallel testing of different catalysts via high throughput which leads to a faster development of new catalysts. The new TUM Catalysis Reasearch Center (CRC) wants to set a highlight in the field of catalysis research. Sientists from five departments as well as industrial partners will collaborate under one roof and do research work on catalysis.
