Roberto Rinaldi has been awarded with the Sofja Kovalevskaja prize of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Very good scientists are internationally wooed. The Sofja Kovalevskaja prize allows the Alexander von Humboldt foundation to bring excellent young scientist to Germany and to support their research activities. Roberto Rinaldi, born 1979 in Brazil and currently working at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung, is one of them. Since 2007 the chemist works on catalytic processes to be used for the conversion of biomass and coal to platform chemicals and fuels. The Alexander von Humboldt foundation awarded 1.65 Mio € for fundamental research. The prize is named after the Russian mathematician Sofia Kovalaveskaja.
