Girls'Day at the Institute

Girls'Day at the Institute

Lately there were 37 curious girls at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung to join the yearly „Girls‘ Day“ at which young girls get the opportunity to try out typical male professions.

On that day the pupils pass through different stations like the fine mechanics, the glass blowing workshop or the laboratory. For example they can experiment with safe chemicals or produce their own pendant for a necklace. At the stations the participants can do everything themselves just with the help of the employees who were likewise joyful about the amount of inquiring girls.

All in all the “Girls’ Day 2014” was a great success for all institute members. The institute gladly helps help young female pupils to get an insight into many different job opportunities.
