Ferdi Schüth has been awarded the Ruhr prize for science and art 2010

The decision was justified as follows: The Ruhr price for science and art is lent to Professor Ferdi Schüth in acknowledgment of his scientific achievements within the area of the heterogeneous catalysis and material research. Schüth is a representative of energy related research within the Max Planck Society. Particularly emphasized have been his contributions in the fields of production and testing of new solid catalysts. He developed the field of high throughput experimentation and is active as well in the field of materials suitable for reversible storage of hydrogen or as heat accumulators.
