Academia Europaea welcomes new member in the chemistry section. Prof. Dr. Frank Neese was solemnly incorporated into the Academia Europaea.

On October 23rd the inauguration ceremony regarding Prof. Dr. Frank Neese’s election into the Academia Europaea took place. The academy is a non-governmental academic corporation, which is based in London. It was founded in 1988 by a number of European representatives with the aim to improve the interdisciplinary academic exchange within Europe. A researcher receives a membership through invitation, which is based on the suggestion of a commission. At present 4242 leading European scientists of chemistry, biology, physics or mathematics and researchers of the social and economic sciences, humanities are members of the academy. Among them are 73 Nobel Prize Winners.

The celebration took place at the Auditorium Oriol Bohigas of the Barcelona Atheneum. The election into the Academia Europaea is a major honor and appreciation of Frank Neese’s scientific accomplishments.
