Open positions for Post-docs and PhD students in the "Sustainable Catalysis for Organic Synthesis" group

The laboratory for “Sustainable Catalysis for Organic Synthesis” invites applications for Post-docs and PhD scholarships in the area of homogeneous catalysis in the Department of Organometallic Chemistry.

Our laboratory is interested in the design, invention and development of new catalytic strategies to provide fast, efficient and sustainable routes for organic synthesis. We rationally design novel catalytic systems based on earth-abundant, cheap and readily available elements to unlock pathways previously unpredictable.

The PhD program will provide students a strong training in experimental organic and organometallic chemistry (spectroscopic techniques, chromatography, advanced Schlenk techniques). In addition to experimental training, the students will be taught advanced organic chemistry reactivity and scientific writing. The PhD students in our laboratory will be immersed in an international atmosphere and therefore the knowledge of the English language is strongly recommended.

More information about the Max-Planck-Institut and Department of Organometallic Chemistry can be found in: www.kofo.mpg.de.
Requirements for consideration:
- Masters degree in organic chemistry.
- Strong knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry is required.
- High language skills in English in order to be able to interact, understand and write scientific reports.
Informal inquiries can be made to Dr Josep Cornella (cornella((atsign))kofo.mpg.de) with a copy of your CV and cover letter/motivation letter.
