Industrial mechanic (device and precision engineering) (Industriemechaniker/-in Geräte- und Feinwerktechnik)

Industrial mechanics (Industriemechaniker/in Geräte- und Feinwerktechnik) will be trained to use state-of-the-art technology in the fields of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics. Apprentices learn to independently produce and assemble smaller components made of metal and/or plastic.

The production of measuring, counting and adjustment devices as well as maintenance and repair are also part of the job. Responsibilities include the optimization of machines, tools and devices as well as the setting and programming of modern automatic production machines.

Desired characteristics: Logical thinking and spatial awareness, powers of deduction, technical understanding. Good English skills (spoken and written), the ability to work in a team with people from different cultural backgrounds round off your profile. The advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachoberschulreife) is a prerequisite.

The newly structured training is divided into two sections: after 1 1/2 years of basics, you will take part 1 of the final examination. This is followed by a more in-depth course which ends after 2 years with part 2 of the final examination. In case of above-average performance at the institute and the vocational school, training can be shortened to 3 years.

Application

A written application can be made in digital form as well as in paper form. It must include a cover letter, a complete CV and copies of your most recent certificates. Internship certificates and a photograph may also be included. The hiring date and thus the beginning of the training is September 1 of each year. Since our aptitude tests take place at the end of November of the previous year, the application must be submitted by 15 November at the latest.
