Ziegler Lectures

Karl Ziegler was a chemist, a Nobel Prize laureate, passionate art collector and Director at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung. Karl Ziegler’s wife Maria and his daughter Marianne initiated this event in 1978 in order to commemorate Karl Ziegler and to honor outstanding scientists. It was the year of his 80th birthday which he did not live to see. The Karl Ziegler Guest Professors give lectures and interact with the scientists from Mülheim. 28 scientists have been selected up to this year.
