Mülheim Cititzens visited the MPI on a bustour presenting examples of European Funding in Mülheim

Mülheim Cititzens visited the MPI on a bustour presenting examples of European Funding in Mülheim

The Mülheim Business European Bus Tour was to show around 40 Mülheim citizens, two weeks before the Europawahl, where EU funding is going in Mülheim.

One stop on the tour was the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, which was able to acquire EU funding both through projects such as EFRE NRW and through research funding with ERC grants.

After a welcoming address by the Managing Director Professor Tobias Ritter, the visitors and journalists learned about the current fields of catalysis research and how the institute is positioned.

The group leaders Professor Alexander Auer and Dr. Michael Felderhoff then presented research projects that are (co-)financed at the MPI with EU funds.

During a subsequent tour of the institute, citizens were able to form their own impressions of research at the MPI.
